Big fields expected for special weekend show at Fayette County Speedway

The Fayette County Speedway will be hosting a special show this Friday and Saturday.

In an effort to draw racers from a large segment of the state, the Sportmod/B-Mod Division on Saturday will have a $2,000 payout to the winner. The special event is sponsored by Pro-1 Gaming, and there is a $150 prize to start the feature race.

Racers who have at least five races on any track will be eligible to enter for the big prize.

Also racing on Saturday are Full Modifieds, Street Stock, Full Purestock and Hornets.

Gates open on Saturday at 3 p.m., with hot laps beginning at 6 p.m.

On Friday, there will be heat racing for the Sportmods and Hornets, along with a full shows in Modifieds, Full Street Stock and Purestock.

Gates open on Friday at 4 p.m., with hot laps beginning at 7 p.m.

Admission rates are:
•Two-day pit pass, $60
•One-day pit pass, $35
•Ages 12 and under pit pass, $20 per day.  
•Friday grandstand (adults), $10
•Saturday grandstand (adults), $15
•Ages 7-12 grandstand, $5 per day
•Ages 6 and under grandstand, Free

On-site camping will be available. Rates are $20 per night with an electrical hookup, or free without an electrical hookup. Bathrooms and showers will be open.

Slideways RC championship races postponed due to heavy rains

The Slidewyas RC club was forced to postpone the final races of its eight-week championship series after heavy rains hit the area on Saturday.

The races have been reschedule for Sunday, Oct. 13. The time will be announced on the organization's Facebook page.

Slideways RC T-shirts will be available to order at that race.
