Proud-50 years

Theodore and Camille Proud of Springfield celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on July 27.

Ted Proud, the son of the late Dr. Theodore and Elizabeth Proud of Chicago, and Camille Muelchi, the daughter of the late Curt and Ione Muelchi of Vandalia, were married on July 27, 1963.
In their early years, Ted worked as a hospital administrator and Camille was a nurse at Presbyterian St. Luke’s Hospital in Chicago.
They moved in 1970 to Hoffman Estates, where they reared their three children. They moved to Springfield in 2007.
Their children are: Cara and her husband Mark Vasconcelles of Springfield, Jennifer and her husband Tim Bergemann of Hood River, Ore., and Matt Proud and his wife Jill of Elmhurst.
They have eight grandchildren: Emily, Ryan and Adam Vasconcelles; Hannah and Abigail Bergemann; and Harrison, Devon and Claire Proud.
They are active in their retirement community, and enjoy spending time with family and friends.
