Vandalia celebrated its Lincoln Remembered weekend with activities throughout Friday and Saturday. In the first photo, Todd Stapleton of WPMB-WKRV Radio leads the 279 people, including a number of Vandalia students, who turned out on Friday morning for the simultaneous reading of Lincoln's Farewell Address in Springfield. That evening, the city's inaugural Lincoln Victory Ball was held at the Vandalia Moose Lodge, with more than 100 people turning out in period dress. Saturday's activities included the memorial program for Fayette County residents who fought in the Civil War.
