Lady Bombers fourth at Dieterich tourney

The Lady Bombers lost their lead in the second quarter and never recovered in a 54-43 loss to Newton in the third-place game of the Dieterich Holiday Tournament.

Senior Danie Austin had a team-high 11 points for Brownstown/St. Elmo, which finished 2-2 in the event.

Molly Hill added nine points, and Emily Bone and Audriana Pruett each had eight, but the Lady Bombers made just 9-of-23 free throws in the contest.

BSE led by two after the first period, but scored in single digits in the middle periods to spot Newton a 10-point lead.
