KC Vandalia Campus classes

The Kaskaskia College Office of Continuing/Community Education will offer a social networking class at the Vandalia Campus.
The class will focus on how businesses can learn to use Facebook, Twitter and other social networking sites to their advantage.
This course will include building pages, security and customizing pages. Internet experience is necessary.
The cost for the course is $20; students over 60 may register at no cost.
The class is being offered on Tuesdays, Nov. 15 and 22, from 4-6 p.m. Prior knowledge of the internet is required.

The Kaskaskia College Office of Continuing/Community Education will offer a “How To Buy and Sell on eBay” class at the Vandalia Campus.
The class will be held Wednesdays, Nov. 9, 16 and 30, from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The registration number for the class is LLI 7040 VA01E.
Students will learn how to turn items from the attic and basement into cash using online auction sites. This hands-on computer class teaches students how to put unwanted items up for sale on eBay. This course is designed for the beginner online auctioneer.
The instructor will demonstrate how to post items on eBay. Students must have Internet experience and be able to access their e-mail away from home to complete this course.
Take your e-mail log-in and password information to class.
Students over 60 may register for the class at no cost. The cost for students under 60 is $48.           

The Kaskaskia College Office of Continuing/Community Education will offer two beekeeping classes at the Vandalia Campus.
‘Beginning beekeeping is an introductory course designed to acquaint the students with basic beekeeping. It will provide information on how to enter this hobby and eventually develop it into a satisfying and possibly profitable endeavor.
Students will be given a brief history and overview of the subject, along with the equipment and management practices necessary to be successful.
Contemporary issues facing beekeepers such as diseases, Colony Collapse Disorder, and the role of bees as pollinators will also be covered.
The cost is $15, and students over 60 may register at no cost.
This class will be held this Saturday, from 9 a.m. to noon. The registration number is COED 8033 VA01W.
Intermediate beekeeping will further explore beekeeping as a hobby or business.
The cost is $15, and students over 60 may register at no cost.
This class will be held Saturday, Nov. 12, from 9 a.m.-noon. The registration number is COED 8033 VA02W.

The Kaskaskia College Office of Continuing/Community Education will offer a beginning acrylic painting class at the Vandalia Campus on Thursday, November 3, 10 and 17, from 6-8 p.m.
The registration number is COED 5442 VA01E.
This beginning painting class offers instruction as well as guidance. Students will participate in basic discussions of paint, brushes, canvas mediums and color principles.
Students will be provided a supply list prior to the start of class. The cost is $30, but students over 60 may register at no cost.

The Kaskaskia College Office of Continuing/Community Education will offer a digital photography class at the Vandalia Campus next Monday and Tuesday, from 6-8 p.m.
The registration number is COED 5428 VA02E.
This intermediate digital photography course will help students further improve their skills. The class will go beyond the basics to get the most from your camera.
The cost is $20, but students over 60 may register at no cost.

The Kaskaskia College Office of Continuing/Community Education will offer a cake decorating class at the Vandalia Campus on Saturday, Nov. 19, from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
The registration number is COED5 439 VA02W.
Students will learn the basics of cake decorating. as well as how to make icing, and learn the importance of icing consistency.
Students can expect to learn how to make decorative icing flowers, figure piping and lattice work.
The making of novelty and specialty cakes will also be addressed.
The cost is $45, but students over 60 may register for supply cost of $25.
