Lasagna gardening class
The Kaskaskia College Office of Continuing/Community Education will offer a lasagna gardening class at the Vandalia Campus from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 23.
The registration number is COED 5435 VA01W.
Lasagna gardening is a no-dig, no-till organic gardening method that results in rich, fluffy soil with very little work from the gardener.
The cost for this course is $10, but students over 60 may register at no cost. Students may register through the Vandalia Campus by calling 283-1780 or the Office of Continuing/Community Education at Kaskaskia College at 545-3255.
Space is limited, so early registration is recommended. All students must pre-register for this class.

Beginning genealogy class
The Kaskaskia College Office of Continuing/Community Education will offer a beginning genealogy class at the Vandalia Campus.
This class will be held from 10 a.m.-noon on Saturdays, March 23-April 27.
The registration number is COED 5441 VA01W.
Students will learn the basics of genealogy in this introductory course. This course teaches how to structure research and study various sources of genealogical information – census records, courthouse records, cemetery records, family papers, library sources and more.
Students will not only learn the importance of Internet searches for information-gathering, but will have the opportunity for hands-on experience in researching family history information via the Internet.
The cost for this course is $50, but students over 60 may register at no cost.

Queen bees class
The Kaskaskia College Office of Continuing/Community Education will offer a “Queen Bees” class at the Vandalia Campus from 8 a.m.-noon this Saturday.
The registration number is COED 8039 VA01W.
Third in the series is queen bee rearing, which will teach students how to properly raise and care for queen bees in their hives.  Healthy queens are necessary to grow the population and maintain a productive and functioning hive.
This course will teach keepers how to properly rear a prolific, quality queen. The course fee is $20, but students over 60 may register at no cost.
