County learns other impacts of new wage law

A week after hearing how much the state’s new minimum wage rate law will add to the salaries of the county’s hourly employees over the next five years, the Fayette County Board heard about other financial impacts of the new law.
Last Tuesday, Dustin Harmon of Bellwether, the county’s administrative consultant, said that the consultant is projecting that the new law will add about $120,000 for salaries in the next five years.
 “It’s more than just what it’s going to mean to the hourly workers,” Harmon said.
