Evergreen Outreach

By Karen Redfern
Evergreen Outreach had a lovely meeting on Monday afternoon at Wesley Hall, led by Joyce Staff.
Enjoying the program were residents from FAYCO, Vandalia Rehab and Brookstone.
Refreshments and drinks were served by volunteers Marie Sutton, Jeanne Schlicht, Erna Wasmuth and Ruth Ann Scott.
Birthdays for the week were: Louis Laster, Susan Tretter, Cindy Jarrett, James White, Dr. Don Rames, Helen Johnson, Maybelle Ledbetter and Bonnie Sharp.
Congratulations to all!
The Rev. Roger Grimmett gave the devotional. He talked about blessings, but said that  if we have any challenges in life, we must still praise God. God asked Moses, “Is there any limit to my power?” If you think there is no limit to God’s power, you will have prayers answered, healing, etc.
If you don’t believe, you will have small prayers. Don’t limit God.
James, Chapter 5, said: "If any of you are suffering, grieving or hurting, pray. Prayers that come from faith will be answered."
You and I need to pray big prayers, because God is more than able to meet our needs.
Faith is the assurance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. Grimmett closed with prayer.
Entertainment was provided by Tracy Rickman of Vandalia on the piano and vocal.
The crowd enjoyed, “Java Jive,” “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” “I Shall Not Be Moved,” “Victory In Jesus,” “Leaning On the Everlasting Arms,” “Amazing Grace” and “Jesus Loves Me.”
It was such a pleasure to have Tracy join us, and we look forward to her returning soon.
In pinochle, John Hunsley and Wolf Schlicht won four games to Peggy Lippold and Flo Lange's none.
We look forward to seeing everyone next Monday.
