ST. ELMO – Though the Egyptian-Illini Conference is in somewhat of a down year, the Lady Eagles are still glad to be back on top.

After missing out on the regular-season championship the past two seasons, St. Elmo/Brownstown has returned to championship form in the conference after a 25-6, 25-22 win against Mulberry Grove last Thursday gave the team a 6-0 conference record.

“We’re back on top, and we have struggled with that the past two years,” said coach Elise Asher. “We’re back on track in the EIC, being undefeated there.”
