Blackburn College
Dallas Clay Gray of Vandalia graduated from Blackburn College in the spring.

Gray majored in criminal justice and minored in business administration.
He is currently employed as the juvenile probation officer in the Fayette County Probation Office.
He is the son of Gary and Dianna Gray, and the brother of Paige Gray, all of Vandalia.
He is the grandson of Jess and Judy Bateman of Vandalia, and John and Karen Lipsey of Vandalia, and Elmer Opfer of St. Peter is his great-grandfather.

Oklahoma Baptist University
Joylynn Strobel, a junior from Brownstown, was recognized by faculty in OBU’s Warren M. Angell College of Fine Arts during a spring music awards banquet.
Strobel received the Charles A. Hudson Memorial Scholarship, which is given to junior or senior church music majors who exhibit a strong personal Christian commitment.
Strobel also received the Pattie Boothe Arnold Handbell Scholarship, given to a member of the University Ringers.
Dr. Kristen Stauffer Todd, chair of OBU’s Division of Music and professor of music and humanities, presented nearly 70 scholarships and awards during the event.

SIUE
Southern Illinois University Edwardsville has announced the names of students qualifying for the dean’s list for the spring semester.
To qualify for the dean’s list, a student must maintain a grade-point average of 3.5 or better on a 4.0 scale.
Local students on the dean’s list include:
• Brownstown – Hannah Elizabeth Wrigley.
• Farina – Meghan S. Glaspell.
• Mulberry Grove – Nicholas Ryan Brown and Brennon Gene Links.
• Vandalia – Stacy Lynn Chrisman, Jonathan Dwight David Denning, Hannah Edgar, LaNette Marie Heselton, Sarah R. Hutchison, Danielle Lian Langston, Blake Nichols and Megan Jean Otto.

St. Louis College of Pharmacy
Tyson J. Lotz of St. Peter has graduated from the St. Louis College of Pharmacy.
Lotz was one of 180 students to receive a doctorate degree in pharmacy during a commencement ceremony at Powell Hall.
He is the son of Jeffrey and Jeana Lotz, and is a 2006 graduate of South Central High School.

Indiana Wesleyan
A Fayette County resident was among the 2,000 students receiving degrees at graduation ceremonies on April 28 on Indiana Wesleyan University’s main campus in Marion, Ind.
Anna Wheeler of rural Ramsey received a bachelor’s degree in pre-med/biology.
