Gives preliminary OK for drive-up at new business

By Rich Bauer, Managing Editor

The Vandalia City Council approved on Monday Tax Increment Financing grants for improvements to two buildings in the downtown business district.
Then, city aldermen – particularly the newly elected members of the council – were given a brief primer on the TIF program and discussed how the city will operate the program in the future.
In one TIF agreement, the city is providing up to $7,500 for improvements to the building at 113 W. Gallatin St. that houses Culligan Water.
