St. James women publish cookbook

For more than 150 years, the women of St. James Lutheran Church in Vandalia and Zion Lutheran Church in Loogootee have been known as great cooks.
To help raise money to restore the church's steeple, the women have published the "Town and Country Cookbook."
The book includes more than 250 recipes, contributed by more than 100 church members. To obtain one, call the church at 283-0725.

Sefton churches to meet Sept. 8, 9

The 130th annual Sefton Township Churches Convention will be held this year at Emmanuel Methodist Church at 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8.
The evening will begin at 7 p.m. with an ice cream social.
Sunday morning services will be held at 9:30 a.m., and the conventrion will conclude with a basket dinner at noon.
The church is located at the intersection of 1200 E and 1850 N.
Immanuel Lutheran worship Saturday

Immanuel Lutheran Augsburg Church will hold a special worship service this Saturday evening, beginning at 6 p.m.
The church is located on the St. Peter blacktop, 4 miles east of U.S. Route 51, at the intersection of 900 N and 1300 E.
