Northside planning couples retreat

On Saturday, Feb. 25, Northside Christian Church will host a Couples Retreat from 9 a.m. until noon. Linda Cope, a counselor from First Christian Church in Greenville, will be the speaker. The retreat is designed for everyone – those who are married, in a relationship or considering marriage. The goal is to strengthen relationships, no matter how long people have been together, through Biblical concepts, personal testimony and professional advice.
A light lunch (deli-style sandwiches and soup) will be served. There is no cost to attend, but a love offering will be taken.

St. Elmo Christian to hold revival

St. Elmo Christian Church will be celebrating its fifth anniversary with a revival meeting, starting this Sunday and running through next Tuesday. Local pastors will provide the messages, and  the worship teams of St. Elmo Christian Church will provide the music.
The evening services begin at 7 p.m., and the Sunday morning services are at 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Refreshments and a time of fellowship will be offered following each evening service.

Ash Wednesday services at Holy Cross

Ash Wednesday services will be held next Wednesday at Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
This year, a morning Ash Wednesday service will be held from 7-7:45 a.m. in addition to the church's regular evening service at 7 p.m.
The church is located at 726 W. Fillmore St. in Vandalia.  

Program on Haiti at FUMC on March 1
On Thursday, March 1, the First United Methodist Church of Vandalia will be hosting the Rev. Edzaire Paul, director of Methodist schools in Haiti.
He will be telling stories of inspiration and hope in Haiti, which is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere.
The program begins at 6:30 p.m. The church is located at 127 N. Fourth St. in Vandalia.
