CEFS Economic Opportunity Corp. honors Geiger

C.E.F.S. Economic Opportunity Corp. recently showcased their 53rd year of accomplishments demonstrating the fact that community action helps people and changes lives.
During the 2018 annual meeting, recognition was given to individuals who had overcome obstacles in obtaining or maintaining self-sufficiency.
C.E.F.S. Chief Executive Officer Kevin Bushur said, “This past year our programs and services truly made a real difference in the lives of residents of the community.”
In 2016, Tara Geiger came into the C.E.F.S. Fayette County Outreach Office seeking available local resources for her family.
Once a rental house was found, Geiger was enrolled into the C.E.F.S. Rapid Re-housing Program where she received intensive case management and set goals to accomplish. While in the C.E.F.S. Rapid Rehousing Program, she was referred to the C.E.F.S. Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act Program, where she enrolled in and received her certified nursing assistant certification.
Also with assistance through the WIOA Program, Geiger obtained her high school equivalency.
Geiger found full-time employment at an area nursing home, where she is currently employed, and also completed the Rapid Re-housing Program.
She is also working with the WIOA Program to enroll in a registered nursing program.
Together with assistance from C.E.F.S. staff and agency sponsored programs, Geiger changed her path and noted that anything is possible when you set your mind to it.
