? TOPS IL 1872, Ramsey, will meet at the Christian Church in Ramsey. Weigh-in is at 6:20 p.m., and the meeting is at 7 p.m.
Saturday, December 3

? St. Elmo's Holiday Celebration will be held from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
? A Breakfast with Santa and tree raffle will be held from 8-11 a.m. on Saturday at First United Methodist Church in Vandalia. Tickets are $8 each and include admission for one adult and one child, as well as two raffle tickets. The proceeds will benefit the Vandalia Vertical Volleyball Club.
? The Christmas Giving Tree, formerly the Vandalia Women of the Moose Gifting Tree, will be at County Market on Veterans Avenue in Vandalia from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. This program helps provide Christmas gifts for underprivileged children. Santa will be present and available for photos with children. For more information, call 292-7372.
? The Vandalia Rotary Club will hold its annual Christmas Parade at 10 a.m. The parade will start at Seventh and Gallatin streets, and travel east on Gallatin to Fourth Street. Santa will then meet with children in Lincoln Park from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Anyone wishing to have an entry in the parade should report to the Fayette County Courthouse by 9:30 a.m.
? The first baby and toddler American sign language class for ages 3 and under will be held from 1-2 p.m. at OUR PLACE Youth Center on Gallatin Street in downtown Vandalia. The event will include videos, music and playtime. A parent or caregiver must attend with the infant. For more information, or to register, call Patty Sprague at 283-1387.
? A Christmas tour in St. Charles, Mo., is being held to raise money for digital mammography equipment at Fayette County Hospital. The tour group will leave from the hospital at noon and return by 10:30 p.m. Tickets are $50. For information or tickets, contact Lyn Gartke at 283-1731.
? The Spirit, Soul and Body Fit Club will meet from 10-11 a.m. at Family YMCA of Fayette County on Rock Island Avenue in Vandalia. There is no membership fee.
? A country music dance and potluck is held from 7-10 p.m. every Saturday at 202 W. Madison St. in Ramsey (the former Baptist Church). Admission is $5.

? A benefit for the family of John and Stephanie Williams will be held at the Altamont VFW Home, beginning at noon. The Williams family lost most of their belongings in a fire that caused extensive damage to their home, and they don't have renter's insurance. The benefit will include food, a live auction at 4:30 p.m., a Dutch auction at 5 p.m. and a 50/50 raffle. For more information, call Patty Caraway at 829-5270 or Tammy Cripe at 292-4602.
? The St. Elmo Ministerial Alliance is sponsoring a community potluck dinner and birthday party for Jesus at 5 p.m. at the St. Elmo Elementary School. Anyone wishing to participate with special music or readings can contact one of the church ministers.
? The annual American Legion Post 95 and Unit 95 Auxiliary will hold their annual Christmas party at the Legion Home in Vandalia. A social hour begins at 5 p.m., and a potluck is at 6 p.m. The meat and drinks will be furnished.

Tuesday, December 6

? A Heartland Human Services caregiver adviser will be available for individual consultations from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at Evans Public Library in Vandalia. To make an appointment, call 347-7179.
? Evans Public Library will hold a lapsit story time at 10 a.m. The December theme is "Here Comes Santa Claus."
? The Vandalia Rotary Club will meet at noon at Ponderosa.

? The Fayette County Emergency Management Agency will meet at 7 p.m. in the EMA headquarters, located in the basement of the Fayette County Jail.
