Letter carriers food drive nets 2,400 lbs.

Members of the National Association of Letter Carriers at the Vandalia Post Office recently held a food drive.
The annual event is part of the nation’s oldest one-day food drive, which helps individuals and families who depend on alternative food sources.
“The generous donations of non-perishable food items support local food banks, pantries and shelters,” said Vandalia Postmaster Tammy Smith. “This year, Vandalia carriers collected more than 2,400 pounds of food to supplement the nutritional needs of the residents of our area.”
The donated food was given to CEFS for local distribution.
