Brownstown-Sefton

The Brownstown  First Responders & Firefighters …
… are high on the list of Brownstown’s most valuable assets.
A little family in Brownstown was in dire straits recently and, literally, their  lives were at stake.
The father took the expectant mother to their hospital (not in this county) when the mother began experiencing contractions, as she was already the mother of two children and knew this was not a false alarm.
However, the hospital employees thought the pains were caused by a possible infection, so they did not admit her and sent them back home to Brownstown,
As they turned into their Brownstown driveway, her water broke and the baby was already crowning, evidently determined to make his arrival in the car. .
With no time to spare, as the baby was emerging, the father, and two Brownstown First Responders who happened to be at the firehouse, delivered the baby safely.
They called an ambulance, and mother and son were transported to the St. Anthony’s Hospital in Effingham, where they were both well cared for and are now back home in Brownstown.
The impatient little “Baby Braxton” has already gained 2 pounds, and both mother and son seem to be doing well.
And Dad?
The mother said that Dad was “white as a sheet” for 24 hours, but he has recovered and is also doing well.
The baby and mother are doing well, thanks to our Brownstown First Responders.
As the baby was emerging, it was discovered that the cord was wrapped two times around the baby,
Our community is so blessed to have our firefighters, and First Responders who can really deliver care and treatment when they are needed … even for the delivery of babies.
And …
… they  can also cook – don’t miss their fundraiser  spaghetti dinner they are serving up this Sunday at the Firehouse at noon. The HCE ladies are providing desserts.
The money raised is for equipment, to help keep us and our homes safe.
