15U Baseball
The Vandalia Vandals 15U team hosted another weekend of baseball at Vandalia Mutual Field.
On Saturday, Vandalia was edged by the Gateway Bruins, 4-3, and lost to Mattoon, 7-3.
On Sunday, the Bruins beat the Vandals, 4-1, and Vandalia lost to the Central States Spikes, 7-2.

The Bruins scored in the seventh inning to break a 3-3 tie.
HS Boys Golf
Chase Laack fired a 3-under-par 32 last Wednesday to lead Vandalia to a win over Ramsey at Ramsey Lake Golf Course.
Dylan Halford shot a 37, Connor McCall a 39 and Jonah Beesley a 39 to round out the team scoring.
Jacob Schaal shot a 42, Riley Ruckman had a 43, and Nick Rosborough shot a 39 for Vandalia.
Gunner Finley and Dallas Sneddon shot 38s to tie for medalist honors for Ramsey. Hadley Seaton and Charlie Reiss also contributed to the team score with a 40 and 44, respectively.
Ayden Marley shot a 50 and Matt Hill a 57.
South Central wins IESA Regional
South Central 7, Mulberry Grove 6
South Central held off Mulberry Grove to win the IESA Regional at Webster Field in Kinmundy on Saturday morning.
Bombers win EI Tournament
BSE 6, CHBC 0
The Bombers claimed the championship of the Egyptian-Illini Conference Tournament by defeating Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City and finishing the tourney with a perfect 3-0 record.
Vandals smoke SCC field
The Vandalia boys golf team won the South Central Conference Tournament in astounding fashion on Tuesday, smoking its closest competitor by 42 strokes.
