Olde Tyme Christmas kicks off a weekend of holiday fun

The holiday season is upon us and downtown Vandalia will soon celebrate the sights and lights that are synonymous with the most wonderful time of the year.

The City of Vandalia presents Olde Tyme Christmas this Thursday and Friday, Nov. 10 and 11. The tentative schedule for the annual festival includes many seasonal favorites that are sure to put everyone in the festive mood.

Friday events – 4:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Lighting of the Christmas tree at 5:30 p.m. at Gallatin & 7th Streets

Rotary Lighted Christmas Parade follows.

Storytime at Evans Public Library on Fifth Street following the parade.

Fashionista Ave at 224 S 6th St.

Christmas Vendor Market at the Methodist Church Building and former Family Video Building

Sleightly Magical Show from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Soroptimist Cooking Walk follows the parade at City Hall

Fayette County Art Connection at City Hall

Santa at 5th and Gallatin streets from 6 to 8:30 p.m.

Live Reindeer at 5th and Gallatin streets

Lucky R Mobile Petting Zoo 5th Street near Tiger Lilly

Carriage Rides after the parade
