Macy Jones places third at bowling state

VCHS freshman Macy Jones rolled a 2,610 for six games to place third in the IHSA Girls State Bowling Tournament in Rockford.

Vandalia Community High School freshman Macy Jones placed third at the IHSA Girls State Bowling Tournament over the weekend.

Jones finished the tournament with 2,610 pins at the tournament, held at The Cherry Bowl in Rockford.

Because there is just one class for girls bowling, Jones was competing against girls at all Illinois high schools.

Lida Burgos of St. Charles East won the tournament with a 2,763 pin total. Morgan LiCausi of Lockport Township was second with 2,691 pins.

For her six games, Jones averaged 217.5, with games of 214, 241, 203, 224, 237 and 215, with series totals of 658 and 676.
