Jr. Wrestlers take fifth at state

The Vandalia Jr. Wrestling Club captured fifth place in the 2023 IKWF Dual Meet State Championship on Sunday.
Vandalia defeated Murphysboro Wrestling, 63-23, in the opening round and lost to eventual champion Bolingbrook Junior Raiders Wrestling Club, 72-16, in the second round, then defeated Lion’s Den Wrestling Academy, 72-22, Sycamore Wrestling Club, 49-42, and Southern Illinois Bulldogs Wrestling Club, 50-46, in the fifth-place match.
