Wanda “Kay” Scammahorn passed away August 12, 2021, at Regional Medical Center, Bayonet Point, FL.
A memorial service will be held from 4 – 7 p.m. on Saturday, September 18, at Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia. Memorials may be made to the family. Miller Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Online memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.millerfh.net.
She was born January 11, 1952 in New Albany, IN, the daughter of Robert Fulton and Beatrice Stephens. She married Loren Frakes Jr. in July 20, 1968.
They were the parents of Teresa Frakes-Morales, Shepherdsville, KY, Loren Frakes III (L.T.) and Michael Frakes and Misty, all of Vandalia. She married Sam Scammahorn on August 14, 2004, and she incurred a step-daughter, Samantha Stockton of Shumway and brother-in-law, Ronald Scammahorn, Denver, CO.
Wanda is survived by Sam Scammahorn, all children; grandchildren, Zackery, Tristin, Thomas, Kaylea, Chris, Paige and Hunter; great-grandchild, Wesley; brothers, Rick Fulton and Peggy, Russell Fulton and Michellia, and Ronnie Fulton; and sister, Carolyn Fulton.
She was mostly known around Vandalia area for owning and operating Kay’s Pizza, a local hang out across from Vandalia Community High School in the 1990s. She loved her family and her dogs; collecting frogs; warm weather; traveling; shopping and watching all crime shows, especially CSI. She will be greatly missed.
