South Central baseball began where it left off in the spring, with a winning streak as the season opened last Tuesday, Aug. 18. They are now 3-0 on the season.
Both teams were strong on the mound Tuesday, Aug. 24 but South Central defeated Neoga 3-1, allowing just four hits.
The good guys got things started in the first inning as Beau Jolliff singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.
Aiden Dodson was the winning pitcher allowing one hit and one run over three innings, striking out five. Anthony Buonaura threw four innings in relief out of the bullpen. Buonaura recorded the last 12 outs to earn the save.
Jolliff led Farina South Central South Central Cougars Varsity with two hits in four at bats.
South Central defeated Woodlawn 16-0 on Saturday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Spencer Johannes induced a groundout from Lee to finish off the game.
South Central got on the board in the first inning when an error scored one run, and notched eight runs in the second inning. The rally was led by singles by Brandt Hiestand and Chase Thompson, a walk by Anthony Buonaura, and a home run by Beau Jolliff.
Aiden Dodson took the win, allowing one hit and zero runs over two innings, striking out five and walking zero. Johannes threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Vs. Wayne City
The Cougars earned their second shutout of the season, as they defeated Wayne City 14-0 on Wednesday, Aug. 18 as three pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Aiden Dodson struck out Lewis to finish off the game.
The Cougars secured the victory thanks to eight runs in the sixth inning. Anthony Buonaura, Dodson, Beau Jolliff, Andrew Magnus, and Ethan Dunn each had RBIs in the frame.
South Central got things started in the first inning when Dodson hit a solo homer.
Spencer Johannes was the winning as he allowed just one hit and no runs over two innings, striking out six and walking one. Buonaura and Dodson entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
The Cougars tallied three home runs on the day. Dunn had a homer in the sixth inning. Jolliff and Dodson each put one out in the first inning.
Farina South Central South Central Cougars Varsity collected nine hits on the day. Dunn, Magnus, and Jolliff each collected two hits to lead the team.
