A job fair is being planned for Friday, Aug. 6 at Kaskaskia College in Vandalia.
The committee, comprised of major business, media, Kaskaskia College personnel and Economic Development Director Amber Daulbaugh met last week.
In preliminary discussions, tentative times for the event were suggested for 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., with resume and interview refreshers to be held prior to the actual fair.
The committee is looking for interested businesses with openings to participate in the event, and those wishing to attend should contact Daulbaugh at her Vandalia City Hall office. It is open to all within Fayette County.
Discussions also centered around giveaways for the event, providing transportation for those who need it as well as child care. A passport of sorts will be implemented as part of the requirement for the giveaway.
More information will be forthcoming as the plans are solidified.
