Girls do well, two boys head to state track

The Vandalia girls represented the community well at the girls state track meet held last week at Eastern Illinois University at Charleston.

Junior Riely Ward was 14th Place in the  Shot Put with a throw of 35’6”.
She did not place in the discus.

Sophomore   Addie   McWhorter   of    Brownstown-St. Elmo    placed 
13th in the High Jump with a leap of 5’.


The Vandalia High School Boys Track team participated in the IHSA 1A Sectional Meet at Newton last week. Two will be advancing to state.

Case Goldsmith and Cole Tarkington advanced in their respective events.

The team finished fourth out of 16 teams with 60 points.

The IHSA 1A Boys State Track Meet is Thursday, June 17 at EIU’s O’Brien Field – Charleston.
