Timothy Michael Funk, 41, of Vandalia, passed away Friday. May 28, 2021 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 05, 2021 at Hohlt & File Funeral Home, Vandalia with Rev. Pete Leduc officiating. Interment will follow in Fairlawn Cemetery, Vandalia. Timothy Michael Funk was born on June 30, 1979 in St. Louis, MO, the son of Michael Wayne and Sharon Kay (Helige) Funk. He was a union iron worker operating out of the Iron Workers Local 392, East St. Louis for 23 years; he was currently employed by United Rebar, Inc. Tim had a passion for drumming. He was one of the best in the area; having played for various bands throughout the years.
He is survived by his mother, Sharon Funk; special friend, Heather Allen; brothers, Todd Funk and Johnny Wright, all of Vandalia; nieces and nephews, Nichole (Funk) Wilson, Michael Funk, Lani Nuebling, Allison Funk, Anthony Funk, Jessica Wright, Tayler Wright, Shelby Rhodes and Levi Rhodes; great-nieces and -nephews, Kylen Cody, Karter Huston, Kailee Nehrt, Miley Funk, and Aurora Wright.
He was preceded in death by his father; brother, Tony Funk; and sister, Shanna Wright.
