Jason D. McCaslin, 43, of Brownstown, was found not guilty on Friday, April 21 in Fayette County Court on a felony charge of aggravated criminal abuse, filed in December, 2018. The decision came following just less than five hours of deliberation.
The trial began on Thursday, April 20, and both prosecution and defense concluded their cases that same day, with closing statements and jury deliberations happening the following morning.
A bond of $3,211, posted on July 15, 2020, was transferred to another case, filed in August 2018, with the same identical charge. That case, which is set for pre-trial on later this week. McCaslin remained in custody as of Friday, May 7.
