Barbara Ellen (Mason) “Barb” Becker, 70, was called to her heavenly home at 10 p.m. on Wednesday, March 3, 2021, to be with her beloved mother, Gladys Eva (Claytor) Mason, and father, Tim T. Mason. Barb was encircled by loved ones when she passed away in her home, which is on the same cherished land in which she was born and raised in Farina.
After graduating from Brownstown High School, Barb became a wife, loving mother, and a homemaker. In addition to being an amazing full-time mom, Barb found time throughout the years to work for a variety of employers, including serving as a caregiver for the elderly. Born with a loving, compassionate heart and a determined, tenacious spirit, Barb was passionate about our savior Jesus Christ, her country, and helping all of God’s creatures – big and small. Barb enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, laughter and a good prank, conversation, and a good cup of coffee. Barb was highly skilled at crocheting and craft making; she loved to give her hand-made gift’s to loved ones and strangers alike, including making blankets and hats for the homeless.
Barb was married in the eyes of God to Thomas Leroy “Tom” Grames. Barb and Tom spent 20 joyous years together before Tom was called home by our Father in 2013.
Barb is survived by her son, Danny and wife Stacey Becker of Maricopa, AZ; daughter, Becky Morche’ of Belleville, MI; daughter, Eva and husband Dan Fischer of St. Louis, MO; son, Paul Becker of Farina; sister, Evelyn and husband Les Wilson of Mt. View, MO; sister, Bonnie Gorby of Pearland, TX; brother, Glen and wife Nancy Mason of Altamont; grandchildren, Allyssa, Lauren and Dalton of Florida; grandchildren Mason and Jackson of Arizona; many cherished nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and cousins; her Dial family; and beloved canine companions, Gingie and Blackie.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father; husband Tom; brothers, Harold, Jim, Pat, and Marvin Mason; sisters, Louella Yates, Mary Lou Goff, Lillie Fern Lewis, and Sheila Malone.
Barb did not wish to be mourned. Instead, she asked that family and friends come together and share memories and celebrate her life. Barb’s wishes will be honored, and the celebration of life will occur later this year. Once determined, the details regarding Barb’s celebration of life will be posted on the Facebook page “We love you Barb Becker!”
Memorials in Barb’s honor can be made to Shriner’s Hospitals for Children. Hohlt & File Funeral Home, Vandalia is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences can be expressed at www.hohltandfilefh.com
