Robert W. ‘Bobby’ Elder, 52, of Effingham, died 3:05 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 20, 2021 in Altamont.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 27, 2021 at Liberty Christian Church, rural Brownstown with Pee Wee Denton officiating. Burial will follow at Liberty Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time. Memorials may be to his children.
Robert William Elder was born on Sunday, Feb. 16, 1969 in Sterling, to Robert Joe and Terry Kay (Oiler) Elder. Bobby was a mechanic by trade and worked as a handyman. He was free spirit who loved his family and music.
He is survived by his children, son, Zakkary W. (Malerie Nickerson) Elder of Vandalia; daughter, Helen M. (Jared Mason) Elder of St. Elmo; sisters, Krista (Steve Austin) Elder of St. Elmo and Ginger Foster of Effingham; niece, Kloe Foster of Connecticut; nephew, Jozsef Morrison of Brownstown; nieces and nephews, Brandon Phillips, Rachel Kline, Shelby (Robbie) Spence, Heather Cross, Hannah Mitchell, Alex Fender, William Fender, Jessica Fender, Haley Fender, and Kaley Fender; aunts, Jeri Elder of Arizona, Debbie Sidwell of Brownstown and Pat Mitchell of Lawrenceville; and great uncle, Charles Elder of Nelson.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, uncle, Butch Elder and several other aunts and uncles.
