Shirley L. Jones, 86, of Bingham, formerly of Granite City, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 28, 2021, at her home, surrounded by her family.
Friends and family may gather from 11 a.m.-noon, with a memorial service at noon on Saturday at Pontoon Baptist Church, Pontoon Beach, with the Rev. Mike Jameson officiating. Memorials: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and/or Fayette County Hospice. Miller Funeral Home in Ramsey was in charge of arrangements. She was born on May 2, 1934, in Granite City, the daughter of Elmer Raymond and Wilma Opal Louden Wagner. She married Norman Jones on March 31, 1950, in Granite City.
She was a homemaker and was affiliated with Baptist Faith. Shirley loved her family and grandchildren.
Survived by: sons, Danny Jones and Vicki of Vandalia, Scott Jones and Susan of Pocahontas, and Brian Jones of Granite City; daughters, Sharon Gergen and Dean of Granite City, Sandy Blaylock and Gene of Coffeen, Annette Gann and Rodger of Granite City, and Brenda Youngberg and Rick of Bingham; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Mary Frances Starling and James of St. Clair, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her parents; former husband; brother, John Wagner; and daughter-in-law, Pamela Jones.
