15U team winless in round robin

The Vandalia Vandals 15U team hosted two larger teams from the Metro East over the weekend, losing four contests.

On Saturday, the Vandals lost to the Gateway Bruins, 11-3, and to the Gators Baseball Academy, overseen by VCHS grad Seth VonBehren, 12-3.
On Sunday, Vandalia lost to GBA, which scored a walk-off win on a sacrifice fly, 7-6, and to the Gateway Bruins, 7-5.
In the 11-3 loss, the Vandals scored a run in the first inning when Reid Well singled, advanced on a sacrifice by Matthew Hagy and scored on a single by Jaydon Lotz.
In the second inning, Conner Ray singles, Aiden Politte walked, Cayden Hipsher singled to drive in Ray and Politte scored on a fielder’s choice by Owen Miller.

In the 12-3 loss, the Vandals scored all of their runs in the fourth inning.
Ray singled, and Politte and Hipsher walked, with Ray scoring on a wild pitch. Miller singled to drive in Politte, and Hipsher scored on Andrew Kelly’s sacrifice fly.

In the 7-6 loss, the Vandals scored in the fourth inning when Ray singled and scored on a single by Well. Well then scored on a single by Carson Ruot.
In the fifth inning, Miller, Kelly and Christian walked, Carson Lotz singled to drive in a run and Hagy drove in a run with a double.

In the final game of the weekend, the Vandals socred in the first when Ray walked, stole second, advanced to third and scored on a fielder’s choice by Well.
In the second inning, Hipsher singled, Willms walked and Dalton White reached on an error, with a single by Chase McNary driving in Hipher.
In the fourth inning, Ruot and Politte walked, and Ruot scored on a double play.
In the sixth inning, Ruot and Politte walked, and Hipsher singled to drive in Ruot.
