The 15U Vandalia Vandals picked up one win and suffered three losses in the Vandal Round Robin on Saturday and Sunday at Vandalia Mutual Field.
On Saturday, a seventh-inning rally came up short in an 8-5 loss to Central States Spikes of Tolono. In the second game, the Vandals defeated Altamont, 12-3.
On Sunday, the Vandals were handed a second loss by the Central States Spikes, 6-3, and lost to Greenville, 13-3, in the final game of the round robin.
In the first game on Sunday, the Vandals scored on a double by Cayden Hipsher and a fielder’s choice RBI by Derek Warren.
In the seventh, Matthew Hagy singled and scored on a double by Reid Well. A fielder’s choice RBI by Carson Ruot added a second run in the inning.

In the loss to Greenville, the Vandals got on the scoreboard in the first inning when Lotz doubled and scored on an RBI fielder’s choice by Hagy.
In the fifth inning, Ruot singled and scored on a double by Hipsher, and Conner Ray drove Hipsher home with a single.

In the first game on Saturday, the Vandals were held scoreless until the sixth inning, when Lotz singled, Well reached on an error and both runners scored on a double by Politte.
After a sacrifice bunt by Hipsher, Ruot singled to bring Politte home.
In the seventh, Vandalia mounted a rally when White reached on a single, Lotz walked, Hagy singled to drive in White, and Well singled to score Well.

In the win over Altamont, Vandalia opened with two runs in the first inning when Lotz doubles, Hagy laid down a sacrifice bunt and Well singled to score Lotz.
After Hipsher reached on an error, Well scored on a single by Ruot.
In the second inning, Warren singled and advanced on a sacrifice bunt by White and scored on a single by Miller. Hagy doubled to drive in Miller.
Politte singled and then scored on a single by Ruot in the third inning.
In the fourth inning, Hagy singled and scored on a single by Well, Well scored on a single by Politte and Ruot drove home two runs with a double.
In the fifth, Ray singled and scored on a wild pitch, Warren was hit by a pitch and Miller followed with a walk, and both scored on a fielder’s choice RBI by Lotz.
