Voting by mail information

Fayette County Clerk and Recorder Jessica Barker, the county’s election official, this week announced the increased ability to vote by mail.
Barker also announced precautions taken by her office due to the coronavirus pandemic.
She said voters wishing to cast their ballot in person may do so on Nov. 3 or during the Early Voting Period.
In-person early voting begins on Thursday, Sept. 24. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-4 p.m.
In addition, the Fayette County Clerk’s office will have extended voting hours beginning Oct. 13.
Extended hours are as follows: Sunday, 1-4 p.m.; Tuesday, 8 a.m.-7 p.m.; Thursday, 8 a.m.-7 p.m.; and Saturday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
All polling locations will remain open for in-person voting on Nov. 3.
Barker said her office staff has taken extra precautionary measures to ensure the well-being and safety of voters and election judges.
An application to vote by mail will be sent to all Fayette County voters on Aug. 1.
Voters who wish to receive their ballot by mail must return their completed application no later than Oct. 29.
