Tools for School, a program for only Fayette County in-need students to select free basic school supplies, is beginning its work for 2020 with a fundraising campaign.
Last year, more than 500 school children, kindergarten through college, from Brownstown, Ramsey, St. Elmo, South Central and Vandalia were served by the Tools for School program.
Monetary donations received from businesses, churches, organizations and individuals are used to purchase notebooks, paper, pens, crayons and other basic items.
Checks can be made payable to: Tools for School and mailed to: First Presbyterian Church, 1221 W. Fillmore St., Vandalia, Ill. 62471
Tools for School 2020 is altering its procedures due to the Pandemic to ensure the safety of our students, parents and volunteers.
Details will be given at a later date.
This charitable program is directed by the Vandalia Presbyterian Church Mission Committee. Call the church office at 283-0937 for more information.
Parents are urged to get a complete list of supplies needed, as Tools for School gives only the basics to begin the school year.
