Online video camps for youth
Kaskaskia College announces that it is partnering with Black Rocket online learning company to offer online computer science summer camps for children ages 8-14 with new courses starting every week.
These course titles will run from June 29-July 3 and are presented completely online.
3D Game Design with Unity – Students who enroll will take their game design skills to another level as they learn level editing, 3D modeling and impactful game play creation, as well as how to utilize scripts and variables.
App Attack! – This class will allow students to take the first steps into the world of mobile app design and customizing their own game app.
Using a specialized app and game development tool, students will explore the world of web-based (HTML 5) mobile apps.
In addition to learning the basics of mobile app design and game development, they will see firsthand how the world of App publishing functions. Student-created apps will be accessible on a private site and can be played on any mobile device or computer.
JavaScript Developer Jam – Students will learn programming tools so powerful they seem like magic.
Start off by learning an array of core programming concepts with JavaScript by experimenting in a series of digital challenges.
Start with programming your first animated memes, then tackle more advanced skills such as interactive 3D experiences and game creation.
YouTube® Content Creators – This class will assist students to start a career as the next YouTube star.
Explore the variety of content and personalities that exist on YouTube and how to find your own niche.
Learn the do’s and don’ts of the platform and how to practice good digital citizenship.
Develop your on-camera presence, your own channel branding, and professional editing skills.
The online offerings are designed to educate young people in an engaging and safe environment while also reducing isolation through interactive activities with live online teachers. 
These classes are not compatible with any tablet or mobile device.
Student-created projects will be available on a password-protected Black Rocket website to share with family and friends.

Online photo, editing courses
The Kaskaskia College Office of Industrial and Continuing Education is offering a variety of online photography and photo editing courses.
The instructor-led online courses are informative, fun, convenient and highly interactive.
The courses focus on creating warm, supportive communities for our learners.
New course sessions begin monthly, and courses can be completed entirely from home or office at any time of the day or night.
Online photography classes include Secrets of Better Photography, Photoshop CC for the Digital Photographer, Travel Photography, Introduction to Photoshop CS6 and many others.
Learn to take better pictures by understanding your camera, take your photo-editing skills to the next level or learn to use Adobe Photoshop to create original images and graphics.
Classes start at $115, and new sessions begin every month.
