Remember our veterans

The COVID-19 pandemic has drastically changed our everyday lives, with our shopping habits, visits with friends, meetings and other gatherings being put on hold. The latter includes the postponement or cancellation of high school graduations and other end-of-the-school year activities.
On the list of cancellations are the annual Memorial Day programs and activities in the area. That's a time when we can pay tribute to those who gave the ultimate sacrifice in fighting for the rights and freedoms that we enjoy.
And, while it's a day to honor our deceased veterans, it's also a time when we can remember, honor and pray for those currently serving in our armed forces.
With Memorial Day programs being canceled, it's up to us to take a least a few minutes on Monday to remember those men and women who have given so much, and those who are serving today.
And we encourage you to do so.
