The Vandalia Vandals boys golf team placed second in the South Central Conference Tournament on Monday at Indian Springs Golf Course in Fillmore, and two VCHS golfers earned all-conference honors.
Chase Laack, with a 73, placed third individually, and Jacob Schaal also earned all-conference honors by tying for 10th place with an 82.
The Vandals had a team total of 325, second only to Hillsboro, with a 291 total.
Other team scores were: Carlinville, 371; Greenville, 384; Litchfield, 387; Gillespie, 391; Roxana, 399; Pana, 414; Piasa Southwestern, 425; and Staunton, 450.
The top 10 included: Alex Eickhoff of Hillsboro, 68; Owen Malloy of Hillsboro, 70; Laack, 73; Dane Huber of Hillsboro, 76; Alex White of Hillsboro, 77; Henry Kafa of Carlinville, 79; Wilson Hamby of Hillsboro and Anthony Boston of Litchfield, 80; Ethan Siglock of Carlinville, 81; and Christian Bauer of Greenville, Gunner Micenheimer of Hillsboro and Schaal, 82.
Other Vandalia scores were: Riley Ruckman, 83; Connor Satterthwaite, 87; and Eli Beck, 122.
Last Wednesday, the Vandals defeated Ramsey in a dual match at Ramsey Lake Golf Course, 164-186
Chase Laack of Vandalia was the match medalist with a 37, and Connor Satterthwaite shot a 39. Other Vandalia scores were: Jacob Schaal 42, Riley Ruckman 46 and Nick Rosborough 52.
Wyatt Marley was the Ramsey medalist with a 44. Other Ramsey scores: Hadley Seaton 46, Charlie Reiss 47, Griffin Wright 49, Dallas Sneddon 51 and Hayden Seaton 53.
In girls golf, Vandalia’s Alisha Swain shot a 47 to take first place in a quadrangular match last Thursday at Vandalia Country Club.
Sidney Herman of Raymond was second with a 48, and Erin Kistner of Hillsboro shot a 49 to place third.
