Saturday, June 8

? A benefit for 8-year-old Mason Feltner will be held at 2 p.m. at the Vandalia Moose Lodge. Mason, a third-grader at Brownstown Elementary School and the son of Sherry Sidwell and John Feltner, was diagnosed with T-cell acture lymphoblastic leukemia in February of this year. The benefit includes a meal of pulled pork barbecue or hot dog with chips, cole slaw, macaroni and cheese, baked beans and dessert, with the cost being $8 for ages 10 and up, and $6 for ages 2-9. The benefit includes gun raffles, live and silent auctions, cake walk, quilt raffle, 50/50 drawing, DJ and children's activities. ? The Vandalia Rotary Club meets at noon at Ponderosa Steakhouse.
? Crawford-Hale American Legion Unit 95 Auxiliary meets at 5:30 p.m. at the Legion Home.
? The Fayette County Board meets at 7 p.m. in the large courtroom at the Fayette County Courthouse, 221 S. Seventh St., Vandalia.
? The Evans Public Library District Board of Trustees meets at 7:30 p.m. at the library.

Thursday, June 13

? Vandalia's Bicentennial Celebration gets under way with a general store from 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Escape Room from 1-9 p.m. and Movie Night, "Grease," at dusk on the Statehouse lawn.

Friday, June 14

? Vandalia's Bicentennial Celebration continues. The schedule include a Young Farmers' Breakfast from 7-9 a.m. at First United Methodist Church; vendors on Gallatin Street; historical displays, Looking for Lincoln walking tour; and Grande Levée activities, including ham and beans dinner from 5-7 p.m.; community band at 5 p.m.; and Air Force brass band at 6 p.m.

? Vandalia's Bicentennial Celebration continues. The schedule includes Grande Levée activities; Guns & Hoses softball game at 10 a.m. and Civil War re-enactment at 11:30 a.m. at the city parks; Little Mr. and Miss Vandalia Pageant at 11 a.m.; parade at 2 p.m.; and music from 4-11 p.m.

Sunday, May 19

? ? Vandalia's Bicentennial Celebration continues. A community church service at 10 a.m. is followed by a community picnic from 11:30-1:30 p.m.; time capsule ceremony at 1:30 p.m. and Civil War re-enactment at 2 p.m. at Sonnemann Park.
