The Vandalia Junior High School seventh-grade volleyball team’s season ended on Monday with a loss to Pana, 16-25, 18-25.
The seventh-graders finished the season with a record of 9-10.
The seventh-graders advanced in the regional by defeating Carlinville, 25-13, 25-23, on Saturday.
On Friday, the seventh-graders defeated Ramsey, 25-19, 25-13. The eighth-graders defeated Ramsey, 25-9, 25-21.
On Thursday, the seventh-graders lost to Hillsboro, 11-25, 21-25. The eighth-graders defeated Hillsboro, 25-23, 27-29, 25-15.
On Monday, Patoka defeated Iuka, 25-11, 25-9.
Makayla Gebke led the team with 17 points and 15 aces. Hailey Lane and Haylei Cline each had seven points and six aces. Macey Spicer led the team with seven kills.
On Saturday, Patoka won the seventh-grade St. Theresa Tournament without losing a game all day.
Patoka beat Flora, 21-19, 21-5; Iuka, 21-18, 21-10; Kell, 21-16, 21-10; and Franklin Park, 21-17, 21-11.
In the championship game, Patoka defeated Willow Grow, 25-17, 25-5.
Hailey Lane led the team with 15 points and eight aces. Shaniqua Sarchet had five kills.
On Thursday, Patoka defeated Sandoval, 25-19, 24-26, 15-9.
Makayla Gebke led the team with 11 points, two aces and five kills. Meredith Clark had six points, three aces and three kills.
Last Tuesday, Patoka defeated Mulberry Grove, 25-7, 25-12.
Shaniqua Sarchet led with nine points, three aces and two kills. Hailey Lane had eight points and two aces.
