? Bingo is held at Crawford-Hale American Legion Post 95 home. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and bingo begins at 7 p.m.
? A Nar-Anon meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at Northside Christian Church, 1845 W. Jackson St., Vandalia.

Monday, January 15

MARTIN LUTHER KING DAY
? The Leader-Union office will be closed in observance of Martin Luther King Day.
? The Vandalia Lions Club will hold an informational meeting at noon at Ponderosa Steakhouse.
? The Vandalia Women of the Moose meets at 5:30 p.m. at the Moose Lodge.
? Fayette County Mothers of Preschoolers meets at 6:30 p.m. in the back room of the St. Elmo Public Library. Mothers of children ages newborn to kindergarten-age are invited. Snacks and child care is provided.
? The Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary meets at 7 p.m. at the VFW Home on West St. Louis Avenue in Vandalia.
? The Vandalia City Council meets at 7:30 p.m. at city hall.

Tuesday, January 16

? A Christian Ladies Breakfast Club meets at 9:30 a.m. at Denny's in Vandalia. All women interested in Christian fellowship are invited. For more information, contact Faye Watson at 267-8487.
? The Vandalia Rotary Club meets at noon at Ponderosa Steakhouse.
? The Vandalia Rotary Club will hold an American Red Cross blood drive from noon-6 p.m. at the Vandalia Moose Lodge.
? The Vandalia Board of Education meets at 5 p.m. in the district's administration center.

Sunday, January 21

? The Holy Cross Lutheran Church Ladies Society/LWML will hold their annual soup luncheon from 11:30-1 p.m. or until soup is gone. The menu will include homemade chili and chicken noodle soup, sloppy Joes, chicken salad sandwiches and grilled hot dogs; homemade pies and desserts; and beverages. Take-out service will be available. Free-will offerings will be accepted. The church is located at Eighth and Fillmore streets.
