Alumni event one of three on Sept. 30

This year’s All-School Reunion held by the Vandalia Alumni and Friends Foundation will be part of a day full of activities in Vandalia.
The reunion will be held in the evening of Saturday, Sept. 30, at the Vandalia Moose Lodge, under the following schedule:
• Social hour – 5-6:30 p.m.
• Dinner – 6:30-8 p.m. The menu includes fried chicken, ham, beef and noodles, twice-baked potato, green beans, carrots, farmer’s salad, rolls and pie.
• Distinguished Alumni Award presentation – 8 p.m. (See Page 1B)
• Visiting – 8:30-11 p.m.
The cost is $25 per person, and reservations and payment may be sent to: VAF 2017 Reunion Dinner, c/o Vandalia Alumni and Friends Reunion, Vandalia Unit Office, 1109 N. Eighth St., Vandalia, Ill. 62471.
Two other events will be going on earlier in the day on Sept. 30.
From 9-11 a.m., the Vandalia’s Little Community Garden Harvest Festival will be held at the Mother of Dolors Parish Center at Seventh and St. Clair streets.
From noon-6 p.m., the Vandalia Historical Society will be hosting “Wine and Ale with Abe” on the Vandalia Statehouse lawn. That event will include live music, artisans and vendors, and a commemorative glass will be available, with proceeds going to the Statehouse window restoration fund.
