? CenterPointe Church, located at 1616 Veterans Ave. in Vandalia, is holding free Weekly Fit Club sessions at 6 p.m. every Thursday.
? The Fayette County Health Department Hospice grief support group meets from 6-7 p.m. at the health department,  416 W. Edwards St., Vandalia. For more information, contact hospice coordinator Jami Lockart at 283-7262.
? TOPS IL 1872, Ramsey, will meet at the Christian Church in Ramsey. Weigh-in is at 6:20 p.m. and the meeting is at 7 p.m.

Friday, June 30

? Evans Public Library in Vandalia will hold a Fantastic Friday. Children up to age 10 are invited to listen to stories and paint with nature. Registration is required; to register, call the library, 283-2824.
? Crawford-Hale American Legion Post 95 will hold bingo at 7 p.m. at the Legion Home; doors open at 5:30 p.m.
? A Nar-Anon meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at Northside Christian Church, 1845 W. Jackson St., Vandalia.

Saturday, July 1

? Evans Public Library in Vandalia will hold a Story Saturday at 10 a.m. Children of all ages are invited to listen to stories and make a craft.
? The fifth "Movies Under the Stars" at dusk on the Vandalia Statehouse lawn is "National Treasure," sponsored by State Farm agent Clint Simpson and held every Saturday night through the end of August at the Statehouse. The evenings will include free give-aways and activities. Refreshments will be available for purchase, with all proceeds going toward the Statehouse window restoration project.
? The Vandalia fireworks, provided by the Vandalia Lions Club, are at dusk over Vandalia Lake.

Sunday, July 2

? Northside Christian Church, located at 1845 W. Jackson St. in Vandalia will hold a celebration of the church's 50th anniversary at 5 p.m. It is being combined with the church's spring barbecue, and the Rev. Carl and Pat Rhodes will be honored for their service to the church.

Monday, July 3

? Evans Public Library in Vandalia will host "The Art of Balloons" as part of the summer reading program, "Read by Design." The program at the library begins at 10 a.m. Children of all ages are invited. (This program was originally scheduled for June 19.)
? Summer Lunches for Kids offered from 11-11:30 a.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at the Fayette County Health Department, Rogier Park gazebo and Family YMCA of Fayette County in Vandalia, township building in Shobonier and township garage parking lot in Vera.
? The Women of the Moose meet at 5:30 p.m. at the Vandalia Moose Lodge.
? Fayette County Mothers of Preschoolers meets at 6:30 p.m. in the back room of the St. Elmo Public Library. Mothers of children ages newborn to kindergarten-age are invited. Snacks and child care is provided.
? The Vandalia City Council meets at 7:30 p.m. at city hall

Tuesday, July 4

? The Leader-Union office will be closed in observance of the holiday.

Wednesday, July 5

? St. Joseph's Food Pantry and Clothes Closet, located at 114 E. Main St. in Ramsey, is open from 9:30-11 a.m.
? Summer Lunches for Kids is offered from 11-11:30 a.m. on Wednesdays at United Methodist Church in Brownstown.
? The Vandalia Chamber of Commerce meets at noon in the Lincoln Room at Ponderosa Steakhouse.
? Bingo at the Vandalia Moose Lodge in Vandalia is on a summer break. Bingo will resume on Sept. 13.
? "Exploring the Arts," a free arts program for children in grades 3-8, is being held from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesdays through Aug. 16 (except July 5) at St. Elmo Christian Church, 112 W. Sixth St.

? The Grandparents/Relatives Raising Children support group meets from 1-2 p.m. at Evans Public Library in Vandalia. The support group meets monthly and provides support, education and access to additional resources, including financial assistance. ? The Bethel Praise Band will hold a concert at Bethel Baptist Church at 7 p.m. to raise funds for the church's mission trip to Peru. There is no admission charge; missions offerings will be accepted. The church is located seven miles northwest of Vandalia on Ill. Route 185.

The sixth "Movies Under the Stars" at dusk on the Vandalia Statehouse lawn is "Elf," sponsored by State Farm agent Clint Simpson and held every Saturday night through the end of August at the Statehouse. The evenings will include free give-aways and activities. Refreshments will be available for purchase, with all proceeds going toward the Statehouse window restoration project. This week is "Christmas in July," with free kids' photos with Summertime Santa and free State Farm light-up Christmas ornaments while supplies last.
