Tools for School under way

Once again, the Tools for School program, which provides free school supplies to Fayette County students who need help, is under way.
Step one is to receive donations from individuals, churches, businesses, clubs and others. Gifts of money enable the purchase of exactly what the teachers indicated their students need. Any groups wishing to donate can contact First Presbyterian Church in Vandalia (283-0937) to see what is needed.
Last year, about 500 young people from Brownstown, Farina, Ramsey, St. Elmo, St. Peter and Vandalia began their academic year with necessary school supplies from the Tools for School program.
Contributions may be sent to: Tools for School, 1221 W. Fillmore St., Vandalia, Ill. 62471.
This program is coordinated by the Mission Committee of the Vandalia First Presbyterian Church, co-chaired by Becky Lambert and Dian Butler.
To assist when supplies are distributed Aug. 19-12, call the church office, 283-0937, to schedule times.
