YMCA offers summer, winter tennis sessions

Local youth are invited to participate in youth teams tennis offered by the Family YMCA of Fayette County.
Using the USTA Youth Tennis play format, participants ages 5-14 use modified equipment and courts, modified to their age and size, making it easier to play, rally and succeed from the start.
Summer sessions, held at Vandalia Community High School, are held at 7 p.m. for ages 5-10 and 8 p.m. for ages 11-14, from July 17-Aug. 21.
Winter sessions, held at the Family YMCA on Rock Island Avenue, will run from Nov. 6-Dec. 11.
The cost the summer session is: YMCA members, $55 per player, or $35 if registered by June 18; and non-members, $90 per player, or $70 if registered by June 18.
The cost for the winter session is: YMCA members, $55 per player, or $35 if registered by Oct. 8; and non-members, $90 per player, or $70 if registered by Oct. 8.
Registration for the summer session ends on July 18, and winter session registration ends on Nov. 7.
Each player receives a team T-shirt, age-appropriate racquet and ball, and USTA junior membership.
