Y’s summer ball signup under way

Registration for summer baseball and softball registration through the Family YMCA of Fayette County is under way for the 2017 season.

The Family YMCA is offering teeball, pinto baseball and traveling baseball and softball with the Patoka League.
In completing registration, participants are to indicate their league of interest.
The YMCA will provide teams with helmets, bats, balls, tees, catcher’s equipment, etc. It recommends that youth wear uniform pants, available locally at Walmart and Champion Trophies & T’s.
Teeball
Teeball consists of 4- and 5-year-old youth, both females and males. Players will hit from a tee. Games will be played at Simma Park, beginning in June. Each player will receive a T-shirt as uniform. Coaches’ meeting is Monday, May 15, at 6 p.m. at the YMCA.
Pinto Baseball-Vandalia
Pinto league is for 6-8-year-old females and males and is coach-pitch. Games will be played at Kelly Park on West Main Street and Freight Field on Locust Street beginning in June. Each player will receive a T-shirt as uniform. Coaches’ meeting is Tuesday, May 16, at 6 p.m. at the YMCA.
Traveling Baseball
& Softball-Patoka
Baseball league is for boys ages 7-9 who play coach-pitch and ages 10-12 who play Little League baseball. Games begin in May.
Softball league is for girls ages7-9 who play coach-pitch and ages 10-12 who play Little League softball. Games begin in May.
Each player will receive a T-shirt and hat/visor to wear as their uniform. Coaches meeting to be determined.
