Golden Circle now Meals on Wheels

C.E.F.S. Economic Opportunity Corp. Program Director Debbie Weber announced earlier this month that the name of the Golden Circle Nutrition Program, which is sponsored by C.E.F.S., has been changed to Meals on Wheels of C.E.F.S.
Weber said that the change was made to make the mission and purpose of the program more recognizable to not only those who would utilize this service, but also to potential volunteers and donors.
Additionally, this name chance will better align Meals on Wheels of C.E.F.S. with the National Meals on Wheels program and provide further opportunities for promoting the program.
Meals on Wheels of C.E.F.S. has been sponsored by C.E.F.S. in Effingham, Clay, Fayette, Christian and Montgomery counties for more than 45 years.
This long-running program has an excellent reputation of delivering hot nutritious meals to frail homebound seniors in the five county service area and also providing a well-being check which enables these seniors to remain independently in their own homes longer.
While the name is changing, participants can still expect the same service.
Meals on Wheels of C.E.F.S. will continue to serve the most vulnerable of the senior population by providing hot nutritious meals in both a congregate and home delivered setting for a low cost.
Additionally, wellness checks on the homebound will still be done by caring volunteers.  The nutrition sites will continue to provide activities, nutrition education and a place for companionship.  And, as always, there will be multiple volunteer and donation opportunities for those who want to join us in fulfilling our mission of ensuring no senior goes hungry.
