SEB, Vandalia meet in finals of St. Elmo Tourney

St. Elmo/Brownstown advanced to the title game of the St. Elmo Holiday Tournament last Thursday, but had to wait six days to face its opponent.

The Eagles defeated Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City, 72-54, in last Thursday’s semifinal game, advancing to the finals against the winner of the Vandalia/Cumberland contest, which was scheduled for Friday night.
However, freezing rain postponed that other semifinal game until Saturday afternoon, with the championship slated for later in the evening.
