Vandalia Junior High’s eighth-grade boys defeated Hillsboro, 47-27, last Tuesday.
The Junior Vandals lead 8-6 after one quarter and 20-13 after two quarters. They held at 19-7 edge in the third quarter and 8-7 edge in the fourth to take the win.
Markus Isaiah led the eighth-graders with 15 points, and Drew Thompson added 10 points. Other scorers –Tarkington 8, Casey 4, Goldsmith 4, Smith 2, Marquardt 2, Sasse 2.

Vandalia’s eighth-grade girls squad improved to 14-4 on Monday with a 19-14 win over Teutopolis.
Gracie Pruett led VJHS with points, Bailey Stewart had four points, Morgan Lidy scored three points and Lauren Hagy had two points.

Last Tuesday, the eighth-graders lost to Hillsboro in overtime, 28-24.
Madyson Hill led VJHS with 10 points, Stewart had nine points, Hagy had three points, and Pruett had two points.
The seventh-graders lost to Hillsboro, 14-8.
Jadie Keck had three points, and Lexi Wehrle and Abby Durbin each had two points.
