Search for bank robber continues

Authorities are continuing to search for a man who held up Midland States Bank in Farina last Friday morning.

Fayette County Sheriff Chris Smith said on Tuesday that the investigation is continuing into the robbery, which occurred at 9:34 a.m. on Friday.
According to the Illinois State Police, a white male suspect wearing a plaid shirt, red plaid jacket, blue jeans and a green baseball cap entered Midland States Bank, displayed a weapon and demanded money.
After receiving an undetermined amount of money, he exited the bank and was last seen on foot heading north on Walnut Street.
The suspect is described as approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall and having long black hair, and is estimated to weigh 200 pounds.
