? Soroptimist International of Vandalia meets at noon in the Lincoln Room at Ponderosa Steakhouse.
? CenterPointe Church, located at 1616 Veterans Ave. in Vandalia, is holding free Weekly Fit Club sessions at 6 p.m. every Thursday.
? TOPS IL 1872, Ramsey, will meet at the Christian Church in Ramsey. Weigh-in is at 6:20 p.m. and the meeting is at 7 p.m.

Friday, May 6

? First Christian Church, located at Fifth and Randolph streets in Vandalia, will hold a rummage sale from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. on Friday and 8 a.m.-noon on Saturday. All proceeds go back to the community, for programs such as Summer Lunches for Kids, Habitat for Humanity, 6:35 Food Pantry, Fayette County Food Pantry, Mobile Food Pantry, OUR PLACE Youth Center, DOVE, Woodhaven, Camp Walter Scott and Samaritan's Purse shoe boxes at Christmas.
? Evans Public Library's Teen Advisory Board meets at 4 p.m. Teens interested in joining the board should contact Shawna Sprague at the library, 283-2824.
? A Nar-Anon meeting will be held at 8 p.m. at Northside Christian Church, 1845 W. Jackson St., Vandalia. The group meets to: learn that drug abuse is an illness; encourage addicts to seek help; replace despair with hope; improve the family attitude; help individuals regain self-confidence.

Saturday, May 7

? Fayette County Home and Community Education will hold a bake sale at Rural King in Vandalia, beginning at 8 a.m.
? The Crawford-Hale American Legion Unit 95 Auxiliary will hold its annual Poppy Day sales from 8 a.m.-noon at Walmart and at the intersection of Sunset Drive and Veterans Avenue.
? Call-in day for the Little Miss and Junior Miss Fayette County queen pageants will be held. Parents of Little Miss contestants (ages 5-7) may begin calling 780-0765 at 9 a.m., and Junior Miss contestants (entering grades 6-8 in the fall) may begin calling at 10 a.m. Parents of Little Mister Fayette County pageant (ages 5-7) may begin calling at 11 a.m. The first 20 callers in each division will be accepted for the pageants. Miss Fayette County contestants (ages 16-21) will be accepted through June 7.
? Friends and Families of Fayette County Hospital is holding a Princess Tea at 11 a.m. on the second floor of the American Legion Home (enter through Seventh Street entrance), 321 S. Seventh St., Vandalia. The cost is $25 for one child and one adult, and $20 for each additional princess. Princess attire is recommended. The event includes lunch, a sing-along, photos and crafts. ? The Vandalia Lions Club meets at America's Best Value Inn. The executive board meets at 5:15 p.m., and dinner and the regular club meeting at 6 p.m.

Tuesday, May 10

? The Vandalia Rotary Club meets at noon at Ponderosa.
? Rainbow Reflections, a local grief support group, will meet from 6-7 p.m. in Wesley Hall at First United Methodist Church, 127 N. Fourth St., Vandalia. Those planning to attend the meeting are asked to contact Mary Miller at 292-5366.
? The Fayette County Cancer Fund will meet at 7 p.m. in the conference room at Fayette County Hospital. Local residents are invited to attend and be a part of the organization.
? The Fayette County Board meets at 7 p.m. in the large courtroom in the Fayette County Courthouse, 221 S. Seventh St., Vandalia.
? The monthly meeting of the Evans Public Library Board of Trustees will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the library.

Wednesday, May 11

? The Vandalia Moose Lodge is holding bingo, open to the public, beginning at 7 p.m. The kitchen will be open from 5:30-6:45 p.m.
